There are other things that the museum will happily take into their hallowed halls. If you want to make sure that you have a fully stocked museum, or if you are just wanting to have a personal collection, then you’ll need to know when you can fish out certain fish. This will be a handy multi part series of articles that you can print out and use to cross off the ones that you have so that you will know which ones (at a glance!) that you still need for your collection.

Angelfish – These will sell for 3000 bells and they are in rivers from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. from May to October of the year.

Arapaima – These are sold for 10000 and they are in rivers from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. from July to September.

Arowana – These fish sell for 10000 and they are also in rivers from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m.. You’ll see them from June to the first half of September.

Barbel Steed – These sell for only 200 bells and they are in Rivers. You’ll catch them all day and all year long but more volume in October to April from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m..

Barred Knifejaw – These are in oceans and sell for 5000. They are caught all day from March to November.

Bitterling – These fish are in rivers and sell for 900 bells. They are found all day from November to February.

Black Bass – These are found in rivers and sell for 300 bells. They are found all day long and all year long, but will peak from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. from May to November.

Rainbow Trout – These are in rivers and sell for 800 bells. Typically caught from 4-9 am and from 4-9 pm from March to June and September to November. They’ll peak in volume in March, April, September to October from 4-9 am and 4-9 p.m..

Red Snapper – These fish go for 3000 bells and they are found all day and all year long in oceans. They’ll peak all day from April to June.

Salmon – These go for 700 bells and they are found in rivers all day long in September.

Sea Bass – These sell for 160 bells and they are found in the oceans all day and all year.

Sea Butterfly – These fish will go for 1000 bells and they’ll be found in oceans. You’ll catch them all day long from December to February.

As you can see from Part One of the collectible fish article series, there are some very lucrative ways of earning cash from fishing in Animal Crossing. Make sure you go after the expensive ones if that is your goal instead of collection!
