    Ultimate Safe Chat

    Ultimate Safe Chat

When a Club Penguin account is first created parents have the ability to set various safety settings; this includes choosing a chat option. The ultimate chat option is the safest alternative; however, it also provides the gamer with the least amount of freedom to say what they want. The gamer can choose from a menu of predefined chat options which includes various actions and phrases that can be used to communicate with other players. When the ultimate chat option is turned on the player does not have the ability to type their own messages. There are also specific servers which only allow ultimate safe chat to be used. When you choose your server look for the ultimate safe chat icon.

    Standard Safe Chat

    Penguin Safe Chat

By selecting standard safe chat parents are allowing their kids to type their own messages to other players. This chat alternative is called "non safe chat" by many of Club Penguin's players. However, this nickname is not very accurate. Each message a player types is run through a filter which detects any profanity or foul language. If the filter determines that a word or phrase is inappropriate it is blocked before any other player reads the message. Unfortunately some comments that may be offensive to others could still get past the filter. However, this rarely happens as Club Penguin is constantly updating their list of inappropriate words and phrases.

    Help for Parents

Deciding which Club Penguin chat option is right for your kids can be difficult. Most parents prefer the ultimate chat option as it is the safer alternative. By choosing this option parents are able to ensure that their kids will remain safe while playing online. However, many kids would much rather use the standard safe chat option. They like the extra freedom it provides, and enjoy being able to communicate with their friends on a more personal level. Making the right decision can be difficult, but luckily by following the steps above you can switch between the two alternatives with relative ease.
