    A Guide to FrontierVille Animals

Animals in FrontierVille come in two variety: livestock and varmint.

Livestock is available through purchase in the Marketplace, as gifts, as rewards for quests, and as rewards for completing collections. Livestock grows through four stages of life, baby to adult, and produces a set amount of profit for the player. Livestock cannot die or breed.

Varmints are pests, and appear at random when doing certain tasks on the farm. These animals can do harm to the player's property and make certain actions nearby cost extra energy. These animals may be chased or clobbered away, disappearing after a certain number of hits (or when they reach the edge of the player's property). Varmints produce profit upon each hit and upon being knocked out. Defeating a varmint also prompts the player to offer a bonus reward to their friends by publishing a message to their wall.
