The Story Line (5 out of 5)

Angels Online, or as it’s known also Angels Love Online, is a hot and free to play Massively Multiplayer Online, developed by Q Entertainment in China, the game had been released also in the console format under the Playstation wing, but the best version is the pc one. The story of Angels Online is a mix between Christian imagination and fiction, the story tells the tale about Lucifer a fallen angel who loved a mortal girl who was already in love with another angel; stricken by fury and jealously turned the girl into dew and the angel into starlight. He was then punished by God, where Lucifer and his rebels were sent to hell. Since then, Lucifer has been plotting a vendetta against the good in the universe.

The story indeed is quite strange and bizarre, I haven’t found the proper adjective to describe the story of Angels Online, because even if it is a mix of Christian imagination mixed with a strange esoteric idea, it has a winning formula that has appealed to many people worldwide, even me. I think that the game is really good, and is a game that doesn’t need high edge graphics to appeal to many people. This is probably the key of the success, the story is an 4 in my opinion, since it has some degree of originality but is not something that will impress many gamers.

Game Play (3 out of 5)

Now let’s talk about the game play, since it is one of the few, free MMORPG, that I found that doesn’t bore me after the first few minutes of play. But I guess you can’t expect it to hold you too long, because it emulates World of Warcraft and Everquest at a certain degree by showing job classes and hierarchies between the different angels. The combat dynamics of the game consist of only three classes. The combat system includes the jobs that deal with physical damage to enemies, so if you prefer tanks, then this is the way you want to go. The magic system deals with attacking from distances, but you will have a low tolerance to physical attacks if you choose this route. Overall, the game play score I give is a 4, it can be fun when you are learning to use it, but after sometime playing the game, it can become extremely boring as it doesn’t really give anything original to the player. You can expect more of the same, typical MMO game play, even when you are learning by watching the videos that players have put on the web.

Overall (4 out of 5)

The game is indeed fun, but do not expect anything great. Within the first hour of playing you will eventually get bored, not by the story but rather by the game play that is repetitive and dull. You can be picky with MMO games though, especially one that is free, so we have to applaud the developers for trying to give something refreshing to the public, which the story line offers. So, if you are in the market to check out a new free MMO game, you might give Angels Online a try and see what you think
