Mini Golf Wacky Worlds - Game Play (3 out of 5)

Mini Golf Wacky Worlds features three game modes - Tee Off, Timed Golf and Gopher Golf. Tee Off is the main arcade simulation game where your objective is to finish the game on a final score of Par or better. Why do you need to that? To unlock the other courses in the game. You start the game with only one course available and that is Tiki Islands. Finishing the nine holes of this course on Par or better score though is easy even if it’s your first time to play the game.

Timed Golf lets you play on the same courses but this time you have to finish all courses before the time expires. Andnot only that, you have to finish each of the holes with no par. Every time you finish a hole, additional time is added to your clock. This adds a new level of challenge to the game.

Gopher Golf also requires you to finish all nine holes in a particular course, but this time there will be gophers and giant bees scattered all around the golf course with the sole purpose of deterring you from finishing each hole with the least amount of strokes as possible.

Mini Golf Wacky World - Graphics and Game Design (5 out of 5)

What makes Mini Golf Wacky Worlds a great game may not be so much because of the game play but rather because of the great game environment it offers. There are four golf courses available in the game, with only one golf course available when you start the game. You need to finish the first course, Tiki Islands with a par or better on each of the nine holes to open the other three courses - Sky Islands, Arctic Nine and Cheese World.

All four courses in the game were designed distinctly from each other. In addition, all four courses contribute to the greatness of this game. The 3D game environment of the game and the interplay of the animation are proof that the iPhone is one great mobile gaming machine in the likes of the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP.

Mini Golf Wacky Worlds - Game Sound, Controls and Other Features (3 out of 5)

While the game’s background music is nothing extraordinary, it is, however, enough to contribute to the fun elements of the game. The whimsical tunes are very appropriate to the game’s entertaining mode.

The game utilizes the iPhone’s touch screen feature for controls. The game control is easy to carry out and very intuitive. In-game directional icons will tell you how to tee off, move your player from left to right and even to adjust the angle and power of your shots.

In addition, the game also has four camera angles that you can adjust by tapping on the camera icon located in the bottom left corner of the iPhone screen. There are some parts in the game where you really need to adjust the camera angle to take a successful shot so changing the camera angle will definitely help you.

While controlling the strength of your shot is essential part of the game, there are however some instances when after hitting the ball hard, it will tend to fall in the same spot. This is just a minor flaw of the game and does not really affect its overall merit.

Our Verdict (4 out of 5)

With great game graphics and design, enough game modes to give you enough challenges and golf courses that are totally out of this world, Mini Golf Wacky World is definitely a great game. But like I said, don’t expect too much serious golfing game simulation here. This is a fantasy golf game and as such your main goal when playing this game is to have fun and be entertained. The good thing is this game does those things quite impressively.
