The Sims Social on Facebook

The Sims Social is the Facebook game for The Sims series of games. It is a free to play game on the social networking site that does offer additional content through purchasing the extras with real money. It is quite similar to The Sims style of games, but it has the social gaming feel to it, too, and does require the help of friends to complete tasks and advance in the game.

Lifetime Achievement Points and Traits

As you progress through the game, you’ll notice that you receive Lifetime Achievement Points for doing things in the game such as gaining a skill level, completing a quest, and gaining levels. After you have collected enough of these points, you can use them to purchase rewards or traits for your Sim. This guide to traits in The Sims Social helps you to decide which ones you want to buy for your Sim. When you start the game, you only have one open slot for a trait to purchase. You can unlock more through purchasing it with Lifetime Achievement Points. Upgrading the traits is also done with using these reward points.

Great Kisser

The “Great Kisser” trait gives your Sim better success at doing romantic interactions with other Sims. This is a really good thing because if you don’t have this, it is quite difficult sometimes to do romantic interactions with other Sims without it, unless of course you want to be rejected and lose relationship points.

The Sims Social trait for Great Kisser

There are five levels to this trait including:

  • Level 1 – this level doesn’t do much. Basically, it just lowers your chance of getting slapped for trying to kiss a Sim that may not be open to receiving one.
  • Level 2 – this level allows your Sim to kiss other Sims with a somewhat higher success rate.
  • Level 3 – if your Sim happens to be in a relationship with another Sim, they can now do the “Steamy Make Out” interaction with their significant other.
  • Level 4 – this level allows your Sim to kiss other Sims with a much higher success rate.
  • Level 5 – this level really gives your Sim an edge when kissing other Sims.

This trait is great for Sims that wants to have romantic interactions with other Sims that won’t be rejected. So, if that is something you want to do in the game, this is one of the traits you should get for your Sim.

Insane

The “Insane” trait gives your Sim an interesting look at life. They can be quite silly, and can be seen eating a shoe, talking to plants, or talking to themselves. At least they’re never dull! This trait is quite advantageous to Sims because it allows them to eat something without cooking, and regain their social need without having to leave their home to visit a friend’s house.

The Sims Social Trait for Insane

There are four levels to this trait including:

  • Level 1 – at this starting level, you’ll notice your Sim sometimes flails their arms like an insane person.
  • Level 2 – this level gives your Sim the chance to talk to a plant to regain their social need.
  • Level 3 – at this level, your Sim will be able to eat their own shoe.
  • Level 4 – at this level, your Sim can talk to themselves. This helps fill their social need quickly!

This trait is great for Sims that wants to quickly eat something, or talk to others (even if no other Sims are around). So, if your Sim is a bit weird and prefers talking to plants or themselves, this is one of the traits you should get for your Sim.

Neat

The “Neat” trait gives your Sim a cleaner home than other Sims. This isn’t the best trait to pick to start with, but it does help put your Sim in a better mood when cleaning items that are messy.

The Sims Social Trait for Neat

There are five levels to this trait including:

  • Level 1 – at this starting level your Sim will clean slightly faster than normal Sims, and will wash their hands sometimes without you having to tell them to.
  • Level 2 – at this level, your Sim will have fun cleaning.
  • Level 3 – at this level, your Sim will be faster at cleaning.
  • Level 4 – at this level, your Sim can give objects a polish.
  • Level 5 – at this level, your Sim will become the ultimate cleaning machine!

This trait is great if you want your Sim to be neat and cleanup messes without delay.

Night Owl

The “Night Owl” trait helps your Sim to stay awake longer than other Sims, and allows them to keep their energy level full longer than other Sims. If you’re a night owl, or want to stay energized without having to use coffee all the time, this is a treat!

The Sims Social Trait for Night Owl

There are five levels to this trait including:

  • Level 1 – at this starting level, your Sim will stay awake slightly longer than normal Sims.
  • Level 2 – at this level, your Sim can stay awake a little bit longer.
  • Level 3 – at this level, your Sim can stay awake just a little bit longer.
  • Level 4 – at this level, your Sim can stay awake even longer.
  • Level 5 – at this level, your Sim doesn’t have to sleep too often.

This trait is great because it allows your Sim to keep their energy bar fully filled much longer than Sims that don’t have this trait. This means you don’t waste as much time telling your Sim to sleep or drink coffee, such as the Dunkin Donuts coffee available thanks to their Social Branding with The Sims Social.

Ninja

The “Ninja” trait gives your Sim the ability to move faster than other Sims. Sims with this trait can run fast, and can even teleport! This really saves time when moving around in the game.

The Sims Social Trait for Ninja

There are five levels to this trait including:

  • Level 1 – at this starting level, you’ll notice that your Sim walks faster than it did before.
  • Level 2 – at this level, your Sim walks even faster, and you’ll sometimes notice that it teleports to their desired location.
  • Level 3 – at this level, your Sim can walk even faster, and is more likely to teleport than before.
  • Level 4 – at this level, your Sim walks even faster than before, and prefers to teleport more often.
  • Level 5 – at this level, your Sim either runs or teleports whenever moving. They only walk when something is close to them.

This trait is great if you don’t want to waste your time seeing your Sim walk slowly around in their home or a friend’s home. This is my personal favorite trait because it does save quite a bit of time when teleporting to locations instead of walking to them.

Ogre

The “Ogre” trait gives your Sim an ogre feel to them. They aren’t the most popular Sim around, so this is one you probably don’t want for your Sim.

The Sims Social Trait for Ogre

There are five levels to this trait including:

  • Level 1 – at this starting level, your Sim will start to burp and fart.
  • Level 2 – at this level, your Sim farts in their sleep, and they don’t care about water puddles from broken objects.
  • Level 3 – at this level, your Sim will start to insult other Sims with their farting.
  • Level 4 – at this level, your Sim will be able to “Super Fart.” This fart is so awful that you can actually see it.
  • Level 5 – at this level, your Sim won’t be affected by dirt and is completely ogre-like.

This trait is really not a good option to use your points on. Most other Sims don’t like this type of Sim, so interacting with others might be a bit difficult. Based on this guide to traits in The Sims Social, you should really stay away from this trait.

Slob

The “Slob” trait basically gives your Sim the okay for being messy, dirty, and be a slob. This is not a popular trait because other Sims in the game don’t like Slobs (they smell and are gross).

The Sims Social Trait for Slob

There are four levels to this trait including:

  • Level 1 – at this starting level, your Sim starts to be less concerned with their hygiene.
  • Level 2 – at this level, your Sim cares even less about their hygiene.
  • Level 3 – at this level, your Sim doesn’t care much about hygiene, and is actually starting to like being filthy.
  • Level 4 – at this level, your Sim is a complete Slob and really doesn’t care much about their hygiene at all.

This trait is great if you want your Sim to be disliked by other Sims and be filthy.

Steel Bladder

The “Steel Bladder” trait gives your Sim more time to do things they want, instead of having to use the bathroom all the time. With less potty breaks, more can get done!

The Sims Social Trait for Steel Bladder

There are five levels to this trait including:

  • Level 1 – at this starting level, your Sim can hold it a little bit longer than other Sims.
  • Level 2 – at this level, your Sim can hold their bladder issues a little longer than before.
  • Level 3 – at this level, your Sim isn’t going to use the bathroom as often than before.
  • Level 4 – at this level, your Sim is able to hold it for a longer amount of time.
  • Level 5 – at this level, your Sim doesn’t have to use the toilet often at all!

This trait is quite helpful because it means that your Sim’s bladder need doesn’t have to be refilled as often as other Sims.

Super Mechanic

The “Super Mechanic” trait makes your Sim quite handy, and Sims with this trait have fun when repairing objects that are broken. It doesn’t repair the items that much faster than other Sims, so if it is worth getting is really a personal choice.

The Sims Social Trait for Super Mechanic

There are five levels to this trait including:

  • Level 1 – at this starting level, your Sim will be able to start repairing objects a little bit faster than normal Sims.
  • Level 2 – at this level, your Sim can repair items faster than before.
  • Level 3 – at this level, your Sim can repair items even faster.
  • Level 4 – at this level, your Sim will repair items faster than before.
  • Level 5 – at this level, your Sim will repair broken objects in very little time!

This trait is good for Sims that wants to repair objects all the time. Objects don’t break down that often though, so based on this guide to traits in The Sims Social, this isn’t a trait that you should invest in too early on.
