The Sims 3 University and School System
In “The Sims 3” children and teenagers have to go to school Monday through Friday from 9AM to 3PM. There isn’t a higher education system (yet) such as The Sims 3 University. There are other ways that Sims can learn skills at classes, but they don’t go away to college or attend types of vocational schools to learn specific skills.

The Sims 3 University and School System for Kids
Once a Sim is at the child age, they have to attend school Mondays through Fridays from 9AM to 3PM. Teenage Sims attend school from 9AM to 2PM. Both ages can take the school bus or ride their bike. The school bus arrives exactly one hour before school starts.
When a kid is at The Sims 3 university or school, they go into the “rabbit hole” at the school building. You can’t direct their actions specifically once there, except for selecting how they behave at school, such as “Work Hard” and “Meet Friends.” Once school lets out you have control over them again.
Kids receive homework each day when they come home from school. They must finish their homework before class the next day to receive good grades and possibly make the honor roll (which is a very good wish that kids often have that gives them lifetime happiness reward points).
If kids don’t have high grades or don’t finish their homework, they can be caught copying their homework from another student or be caught falling asleep in class. This will result in them having detention after class and they will be kept at the school for a few hours after it lets out for the other students. After the detention, they have to find their own way home, so it is a good idea to keep a bicycle in each kid’s inventory.
After school, a child or teenage Sim can bring home a friend from school to play with. They can also receive an invitation from another Sim to go over to their house after school.
It is important that children and teenagers do well in school so that they will be able to pick their next The Sims 3 trait when they grow up. So, make sure they complete their homework and arrive at school in a good mood and on time each day.

Is There a College or The Sims 3 University for Adults?
Unfortunately there is no The Sims 3 University or College for adult Sims to attend. Sims are able to go to the school to attend Painting classes and learn the Painting skill. Adult Sims are also able to join The Sims 3 Education career in “The Sims 3: Ambitions.”
