Romance is Even Better with The Sims 3 Dates Before the WooHoo Stage

The new dating system is only available with “The Sims 3: Generations” expansion pack. This is a really great addition to the game though and one of the better adult things that was added with the expansion. Another great addition was the ability to throw bachelor and bachelorette parties for couples engaged. So, go ahead and make the first move with another Sim and go on The Sims 3 date with your Sim – it could lead to the next wild party that your Sim isn’t soon to forget!

Ask a Sim on a Date

To start a new romance it is best to become friends first. Then, when you are ready to make the move, have your Sim start flirting with the other Sim to see if they are receptive. If they are, go ahead and ask them on a date. Your Sim will probably even receive a wish to ask that specific Sim on a date, so ask them already!

When you ask the Sim on a date, the date starts right there. Be sure to already have an idea on what you are going to do or the date could fall flat. Take the date to the local beach, park, club, bar, lounge, or other location that you think the two Sims would enjoy. It is all about romance, so keep that in mind. Additionally, if two Sims live together and have a romantic relationship they can still go on dates. It is actually much easier to control the date this way and is probably more fun for the Sims on the date too. Amazing dates can be done this way on vacation too, so always think of an adventure in another country in “The Sims 3: World Adventures” as a romantic possibility too. Sims can also “Watch the Stars” while on the date (or even when not on a date). This is another new thing with the “Generations” expansion pack and is quite cute to watch the couple gazing at the stars. It is a nice romantic interaction that is sure to give your Sim fun memories. If the date goes well, your Sim will want to go on another date with that Sim and will receive a wish wanting to do so. Even if they don’t receive the wish, they can still go on another date with the Sim at another time.

Give Flowers or a Gift to your Date

When your Sim is on The Sims 3 date, you can now give the other Sim flowers or some other personal gift that the recipient would like. You can give these flowers or gifts anytime, but a date or The Sims 3 prom is the perfect place to give the romantic red type. All of the colors of flowers cost $40 and you don’t have to have them on hand to give them to another Sim. They just appear, if you have the money to give them.

Types of Flowers to Give:

• Friendly Yellow
• Perfect Purple
• Precious Pink
• Pure White
• Romantic Red

Gifting is another option. If your Sim found or purchased a cool gemstone, that would be a fantastic present for a Sim that enjoys collecting. Same goes if you have other items that you think the other Sim would like. There is really no limit to what you can give.

Proposing in The Sims 3

Another fabulous idea is to propose to another Sim while on a date. This is the ultimate date and planning for it ahead of time is often best. Make sure the Sims are in their best clothes and take them to a very romantic location to pop the question. If the Sim says yes, they will become engaged and you can now have them each throw their own The Sims 3 bachelor party or bachelorette parties! This is one fun addition to the expansion pack that is worth doing for all engaged Sims!

Romantic Reputations

Another new thing that was added with the “Generations” expansion pack is the “Reputation” that Sims have in their love life. This can be seen in their scrapbook. Basically, it just shows the Sim’s reputation, how many romances they’ve had, how many betrayals, how many times they have cheated on another Sim, who their longest romance was with, and how long their current romance has been. These romantic reputations can really haunt a Sim around, especially if they are “Slimeballs” and have had more than 10 betrayals. So, try to have your Sims stay faithful and you won’t have to worry too much about this when going on The Sims 3 date, unless of course that is how you like to play the game.
