Aliens in The Sims Series

What is that in the sky? Aliens?!? Yes. Those friendly extraterrestrials used to abduct unsuspecting Sims that used the telescope in “The Sims.” Nothing really happened of much importance when this occurred, but it did lead to their recurrence in future games for the series, such as with the possibility of The Sims 3 aliens.

The Sims 2 actually added in aliens as a playable life state for Sims to be. They didn’t have any special abilities, but they did have an alien appearance that could be passed on to their offspring. They were “Pollination Technicians” and wanted to have The Sims WooHoo with other Sims to have hybrid children with them. It was an interesting addition to the game that many Simmers enjoyed.

Are there Aliens in The Sims 3?

The Sims 3 aliens are not currently a life state for Sims to be in the game. Sims can use a telescope and find new stars and other astrological items. Unlike in other games in the series, Sims won’t be abducted by aliens when using the telescope. So, feel free to use it without having the fear of being taken by little green men.

Although you can’t technically be an alien in the game, there are signs that it could come to the game in the future, perhaps through an expansion pack. If you have “The Sims 3: Late Night” expansion pack installed for your game, visit the “PlumbBob Pictures Backlot” in Bridgeport and you may see the science set featured. If it is, you can see a baby alien in a tube along with other sci-fi objects. If you want to see this in your town permanently, use the “buydebug on” cheat, and place this special item in your town where you want it to go.

Create an Alien

Even though there isn’t an alien life state in the game, that doesn’t mean that you can’t create or download some extraterrestrials for your game. The Sims 3 is all about what you want to do with the game, and what you want to create for your Sims.

The Sims 3 aliens custom made

I made a few aliens for my game and my favorite one is called Andrea Droid which is seen here, and you can download it for free on the exchange. If you like it, please recommend it.

To create your very own alien or E.T. family to add to your town, go to the “Edit Town” mode and “Create Sims.” Adjust the skin color to a shade of green that you want your Sims to have. I prefer the middle range of green to light green. There aren’t really any options for gray colored aliens, which is another popular color of E.T. skin color.

From there, adjust everything about the Sim’s features to how you want your alien to look. They could have a large head with long forehead, black eyes, no hair, long hair, futuristic clothes, etc. Using the advanced features in the “Create A Sim” mode, you will be able to adjust these features to a highly detailed degree, so they will look exactly like you want them to look like.

Note: If you use the unlock outfits cheat code, you can dress these Sims in the futuristic outfit to give them an even more E.T. appearance. Another good option is having them wear The Sims 3 sexy clothes, because aliens want to look hot too.

Download an Alien

Aside from my alien I shared with you above, there are many other The Sims 3 aliens that you can download for free to add to your game. Go onto the official Sims 3 website, and search the “Exchange” for aliens to find some potential additions for your game.

Other websites like Mod the Sims also features green Sims that can be perceived as extraterrestrials for your game too. There are many different types of aliens that you can add to your game for free, so pick the ones you like most.

Note: As with all custom content and downloads, be careful what you download and where you download it from. Not everything is stable for the game and may cause it to crash. Be careful and only use it if it is from a trusted source!

Hidden Springs

The Sims 3 hidden springs green Sim

One of the new downloadable worlds from The Sims 3 Store is called “Hidden Springs.” This is a town where there are many mystical things that is going on. Some of the townspeople added with the game are even colored in a light green shade.

The cause for why some Sims in Hidden Springs is a light green color is still unknown. It might have happened from the special spring or fountain that is there, they might be new The Sims 3 aliens, an extraterrestrial hybrid, or maybe a type of PlantSim, which was featured in “The Sims 2: Seasons.”
