Welcome to Sunset Valley Sims 3 Family: The Goths

Sims 3 Sunset Valley is a premade town in The Sims 3, populated by premade families and homes. The neighborhood description ties Sunset Valley to Pleasantview, a premade neighborhood in The Sims 2 that was populated with many of the same families and characters found in Sunset Valley. The description states that Sunset Valley was founded by the Goth family and built up by the Landgraabs. In particular, the Goths, a Sunset Valley Sims 3 family, have also been a premade family in the previous two installments of The Sims games.

    Goth Family History

First appearing in The Sims, the Goth family consisted of two adults and a child. Parents Mortimer and Bella Goth had a child, Bella. Together, the three members of the Goth family live in a small home in Neighborhood 1 with a little cash on hand. As this family is a playable family, the direction the family takes is entirely up to the player.

The family makes another appearance in The Sims 2 in the neighborhood of Pleasantview. Much time has passed between The Sims and The Sims 2 and Mortimer Goth is now an elder. Little Cassandra has grown to an adult and a second child, Alexander Goth, has been added to the family. The family tree reveals Bella to be the mother of both Cassandra and Alexander but she is nowhere to be found in Pleasantview. Mortimer, it seems, has begun to move on with his love life, now involved with a much younger woman named Dina Caliente. The Goth family in The Sims 2 is extremely wealthy, living in a large home and with a significant amount of cash on-hand, which may explain Dina's interest in the aging Mortimer. Though Bella first seems to be missing without explanation, a look into the photo album of the neighborhood reveals a possible clue to her disappearance--Bella is featured in a hot tub photo with town Casanova, Don Lothario. However, rumors also circulate among the gaming community that Bella can be found in Strangetown, perhaps a victim of alien abduction.

    The Sims 3 Goth Family

Though the most recent installment of The Sims series, The Sims 3 is actually a prequel to the previous two installments. The Sunset Valley Sims 3 family, the Goths, features only one member of the previous Goth family incarnations--Mortimer. In The Sims 3 Mortimer is only a child, living with his parents Gunther and Cornelia Goth in a large home in Sunset Valley. This version of the family is extremely wealthy and lives in a home described as the first home built in the neighborhood.

Gunther Goth is a brave workaholic who is frugal, grumpy and charismatic. He wishes to be a Renaissance Sim, which means he would like to raise three skills to the maximum level 10. His Mortimer and Bella favorite food is spaghetti and his favorite color is black. Cornelia Goth is an unflirty perfectionist who is neat, charismatic and grumpy. She wishes to have a Perfect Garden, which means she wants to have eight different perfect plants on her lot at one time. Her favorite food is grilled salmon and her favorite color is violet. Mortimer is only a child in The Sims 3. He is artistic, grumpy and ambitious. His favorite food is french toast and his favorite color is black.

As this Sunset Valley Sims 3 family is a playable family, the route the family will take depends entirely on the player. Will Mortimer follow the path of the previous two installments of The Sims series and marry Bella or will the player take him in an entirely new direction?
